Nanopar Ltd and Paskíer®: Who we are, what we do?

We are a Finnish technology supplier, specialized into sustainable technology for mine and process industry side streams. Additionally, we have developed a groundbreaking method to process organic sludge into recycled fertilizers. Paskíer®Process works for all kinds of biomass from biogas digestate and sewage sludge to process industry side streams – the sludgier the better!

How does Paskíer® work?

The process works with tested, widely used technology that we have merged for a new purpose. The key component is a patented vacuum-assisted infrared dryer that destroys all pathogens in 600 Centigrade degrees without burning sludge. The process also includes a mill, mixer, granulator, and bagging machines. The process fits into two 40 feet sea containers – when scaled to a medium sized WWTP – and can be installed outside the plant. The heat produced by drying is enough to warm the whole facility.

Complete solution for biogas plants or WWTPs

Primarily, Paskíer®Process is cost effective. It has competitive CAPEX and OPEX and with profitable end-product, it improves the plant’s earning logic. The infrared dryer is proven to be the most efficient thermal dryer on the market and the end-product is the best alternative among sludge-based recycled fertilizers. Dry granules are suitable for existing fertilizer applicators and the drying process reduces logistic problems – dry residues are cheaper and easier to transport than wet residues. The price of the recycled fertilizer is significantly lower than the current prices of mineral fertilizers. All in all, recovering nutrients and organic material with Paskíer® is more profitable than other methods of processing organic side streams.

Secondly, the process is easily implantable as part of the plant’s operations. It is scalable and compact; fully automated and remotely controllable. And best of all, the process does not create obtrusive smell or dust.

Thirdly, Paskíer® fits perfectly to the organization’s sustainability action plan. The process has smaller CO2-eq than any other sludge treating method. The carbon footprint of the process itself is only 5 kg/ton, while composting 95 kg/ton and incineration 400 kg/ton. Exact reference values of the recycled fertilizers will be available through the Finnish carbon emission calculator project later this spring.

Our vision

We are dreaming of a waste-free future, where everything is recycled, or upcycled, including sludge. We are staunch supporters, implementers and developers of circular economy thinking.

With nutrient recovery, we are not reinventing the wheel. We need food and food needs nutrients. What the industry has been lacking, is sustainable technology to enable nutrient recovery in a safe and efficient manner. We developed sludge treatment with experience, knowledge, and deep passion for circular economy and so Paskíer® became the first method to process sludge into recycled fertilizers locally, efficiently and with low carbon emissions.
